In an effort to keep the community healthy and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the City of Gulfport Recreation Center will be suspending all programs including the children’s spring break program effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Beach closure as a result of a sewage overflow at Beauvoir Road and Highway 90 near the following location: the beach area including Harrison County station 12 (at Breakers Inn/Edgewater Mall, Biloxi), closed from the Coliseum Pier east to Brady Drive. The Gulfport Recreation Center’s programs and classes are closed including Teen Night, After School, Tot-time and VPK. Four beaches closed yesterday. Any impacts to our City will be shared on our website and through our social media channels.In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our community, the City of Gulfport Recreation Center has cancelled their annual “Fun in the Sun” Day Event on Saturday, April 11, 2020. All residents are strongly encouraged to wear face masks per CDC guidance when in places of high foot traffic such as grocery and retail stores.oThe City of Gulfport Municipal Beach and parking lot will open Monday, May 4 at 7am.oThe Beach and Casino public restrooms will also open Monday, May 4 at 7am.oAll playgrounds on City property are closed, City Parks are open.oThe Casino boat dock, in orchestration with the opening of the beach parking lot, will open Monday, May 4 at 7am.oPer City Ordinance 2015-08, boaters are advised that no vessel shall be moored to thepublic casino boat dock for more than four (4) hours in any day.Should you need to speak to a City Staff member, please call (727) 893-1000.Examples for Restaurants and Food Establishments based on State OrderIf your establishment’s stated maximum building occupancy is 180, the State Order allows for a maximum of 45 patrons at the same time indoors. All programs, fitness classes, and events located at the Gulfport Recreation Center have been suspended through March 29, 2020.
