Putting 10-15 connections across a consumer internet connection is just begging for lag. Dedicated servers are definitely needed, simplicity is good but just allow both options, players who don't understand how to run a server can host it off their machine like the current implementation. This could be the reason why there are so many supplies floating around the ocean.
We highly recommend playing the game with no more than 4 players on a single raft.

i get the idea but real servers are gonna be a nexxitity in the future Peer to peer also suffers from the asymetric bandwdith issue. Hopefully when we get NBN I can play with more than two people :P With a larger multiplayer concept I imagine something along the lines of a Raft-Rust mix. There doesn't have to be pvp but maybe something to interact with one another! this is the only issue i have seen wit hte game, i currently have a constant 15 players inb my world but when i got to bed i have to leave the game up and running so everyone can continue to play.
