Founded in 1989 within the College of Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), the STUDIO serves as a locus for hybrid enterprises on the CMU campus, the Pittsburgh region, and internationally. A national search to find Martin’s successor will be announced later this fall, with the goal of naming the new dean by fall of 2020. The arts, design and architecture were an essential part of Andrew Carnegie’s founding vision for this institution. The program trains students to seek evidence-based solutions to problems facing the arts and cultural sector as well as associated arts education and advocacy organizations, heritage organizations, and related fields. Dan Martin has decided to step down as dean of CMU’s College of Fine Arts (CFA), and will return to the faculty in the School of Drama. A Unique Experience.
